Dragon at "The Umbrella House" (Las Ramblas - Barcelona) due to the brightly coloured umbrellas which decorate the façade. The building dates back to 1858 and was built by Bruno Cuadros who owned the umbrella shop which originally occupied the entire ground floor (now a bank).

This was my artwork for the Catalan festivity of Sant Jordi on April 23rd. I posted it on that same day on my twitter but I forgot to share it here!

It's a beloved tradition to gift books and roses to loved ones on Sant Jordi here. It originates from the legend of Saint George and the Dragon that he killed to save a Princess. From its crimson blood grew roses that he gifted to her 🌹

A beautiful festivity came from it but i don't really like the story, so I made my own version where it's just a girl and the power of her imagination. When she writes, magical things happen! ✨

She has the power to make her dreams come true. That's how she got her princess dress and a little dragon companion who brings her roses. I like to think of the dragon as Santa Jordi 🐉

The dress and crown resemble fire and the Catalan flag because I wanted honor the colors and feel of our traditional illustrations for this day. Do you like it? I love the results a lot more than i expected, so she might become a new OC of mine. Do you have any ideas on how I could name her?
